A kidnapped Catholic priest in Nigeria, Mikah Suleiman, has made a heartfelt appeal for help, begging Nigerians to come to his aid and secure his release from the clutches of suspected bandits.

The priest, who was abducted from his residence in Gusau, Zamfara state, last Saturday, June 22, 2024, is seen in the video, dressed in a T-shirt and shorts, sitting on the ground, with his captors standing off camera.

With visible signs of physical abuse and restraint, the clergyman pleads for his life, urging well-meaning Nigerians to help facilitate his release.

He reveals that his captors have threatened to kill him if the ransom is not paid promptly, emphasizing the urgency of his situation.

The priest’s emotional appeal has sparked widespread concern and outrage, with many calling for his immediate release and urging the authorities to take decisive action against the perpetrators.

The incident highlights the escalating insecurity in the region, with banditry and kidnapping becoming increasingly common.

The Zamfara State Police Command has confirmed the incident and deployed a tactical squad to track the kidnappers and ensure the priest’s safe return.
