The Foundation for Environmental Rights, Advocacy and Development (FENRAD) has condemned the killing of two policemen at Opobo Junction in Aba, Abia State, on Friday, June 28, 2024.

This incident is the latest in a series of attacks on security personnel in the state, and FENRAD is calling for urgent action to address the situation.

The organization commiserates with the families of the slain officers and the Abia State Command of the Police Force, and is demanding increased intelligence gathering and strategic response to prevent further attacks.

FENRAD also calls for the unconditional release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu to restore calm in the region.

The killing of security personnel is a worrying trend that must be addressed immediately. FENRAD urges the state government to take all necessary measures to ensure adequate security provision in Aba, the economic engine of the state.

The organization sympathizes with those who are mourning and condemns the violent killings, whether perpetrated by faceless groups or agents of the state. FENRAD demands the immediate arrest and prosecution of all persons involved in this crime.
