Rotimi Amaechi, the former governor of Rivers state and Minister of Transportation under President Muhammed Buhari, has triggered backlash and heated arguments on social media over his inciting remark about the current situation in the country.
As the cost of living is intensified by the increase of petrol pump price to over a thousand naira, the former Minister said he was surprised at the quietness of Nigerians.
Amaechi said that the outrageous hardship should have spurred Nigerians into protesting against those in government who are stealing their money.

Okonkwo is one man worth admiring because of his intelligence. He is incontestably articulate and brilliant. However, in this context, Okonkwo's articulation of Fubara's action and trying to compare him with Peter Obi is erroneous.
There are certain inconsistencies in his remark.
First, Okonkwo contrasted Peter Obi with Donald Trump who he said was an example of a strong leader. But remember that a few weeks ago, an aide to president Bola Tinubu drew a similarity between Peter Obi and Trump in terms of their political approaches and strategies.
So, for the presidency, Peter Obi could be likened to Trump. But for Okonkwo, Obi is the opposite of Trump. Do you see the inconveniency there?
Alright. Let me move to the gist of this matter. The way it is absurd to compare Obi and Trump is the same way it is absurd to compare Obi and Gov. Fubara.
