Senator Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) is currently coasting home to victory as the Petition Tribunal sitting in Awka, the Anambra State capital, has dismissed the petitions by Obinna Uzor and Chris Azubogu against him.
Ruling, the Tribunal described Uzo’s petition as frivolous, incompetent and lacking in merit, noting that the documents tendered by the petitioners are mere hearsay.
It also held that only a petitioner can be declared winner in an election petition and that the counter-claim and cross-petition failed.
Obinna Uzor and Chris Azubogu, having failed in their petitions, only the cross-petitions of Chris Azubuogu and Chris Uba’s petitions are left to be considered.
