Manchester City To Submit Record Offer For Lamine Yamal

Manchester City is reportedly preparing a club record deal to tempt Barcelona into selling their 16-year-old winger, Lamine Yamal.

This comes amidst strained relations between the two clubs after City’s persistent pursuit of the young talent.

According to sources, Manchester City went “all out” to sign Yamal over the summer, but Barcelona refused to let him go.

The Spanish club has instead offered Yamal his first professional contract, keeping him at the club until the summer of 2026.

Despite Barcelona’s resistance, Manchester City remains determined to sign the youngster who is currently representing Spain at the Euros.

The teenager became the youngest player to start a La Liga match for Barcelona and also became the youngest player and goalscorer for the Spain national team during their Euro 2024 qualifying match against Georgia.

City’s offer is expected to be in the region of €150m, a club record deal, overtaking the €117.5m paid for Jack Grealish in 2021.

It remains to be seen if Barcelona will be tempted to sell their prized asset. The situation has caused a significant strain on the relationship between the two clubs, with some reports suggesting that the relationship is “completely broken”.
