Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos has hailed tight-rope walker, Jaan Roose, for placing Lagos on history book after his remarkable feat of walking in the sky from Sterling Towers to the Onome Rig while taking selfie.

News Band had, on November 16, 2023, reported that Jaan Rose from Estonia, caused a stir in Lagos on Wednesday, November 15, when he was sighted walking a tight rope across a major road, bridge and a train track in Lagos State.

The Estonian stuntman, a three-time world champion and the holder of numerous world records in tightrope walking, was seen walking on the rope until he reached the Onome rig on the Lagos lagoon, a distance spanning hundreds of meters.

Reacting on his “X” (formerly Twitter) handle, @jidesanwoolu, the Lagos State Governor congratulated Jaan Roose, saying that ‘capturing the beauty of Lagos skyline against the backdrop of the Blue Line Rail is an admirable feat’ and “highlights the splendour of Lagos State”.

He posted: “Lagos is the epitome of creativity at its finest and we are saying well done and congratulations to @JaanRoose, the Guinness World Record holder, who has captured the Perfect Lagos Selfie while walking in the sky from Sterling Towers to the Onome Rig.

“His expertise in slack-lining, blending balance training, recreation, and moving meditation is beautifully showcasing our city’s vibrant spirit.

“Capturing the beauty of our skyline against the backdrop of the Blue Line Rail is an admirable feat.

“Partnering with the Lagos Safety Commission, this project highlights the splendour of Lagos State.

“This is one of many recent successful projects with the @redbull team which include partnering with the Lagos State Government through LASPARK, renovating Ndubuisi Kanu Park’s basketball court and recently creating the Lagos Encourage Park in Ikoyi.”
