Victor Osimhen, the Nigerian striker, is on the verge of securing a significant pay rise at Paris Saint-Germain, with reports indicating a €4 million increase in his annual salary.

According to Tuttosport, Osimhen has agreed to personal terms with the French champions, signing a five-year deal worth €14 million per season.

This represents a substantial increase from his current €10 million annual salary at Napoli.

Osimhen’s agent, Roberto Calenda, recently visited Paris to negotiate with PSG, and while the club has yet to finalize the transfer with Napoli, the striker’s future appears to be heading towards the Parc des Princes.

Napoli, under new coach Antonio Conte, is open to selling Osimhen, but PSG is hesitant to meet the player’s €130 million release clause, instead offering €100 million plus a player to secure the deal.

The potential transfer has sparked interest in the football world, with Napoli eyeing Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku as a possible replacement for Osimhen.

The Serie A club is keen to offload players before bringing in new recruits, and completing Osimhen’s sale would pave the way for Lukaku’s pursuit.

Despite interest from Saudi Pro League club Al Ahli, Osimhen remains focused on continuing his career in Europe, with the Premier League being his initial preferred destination.

However, the opportunity to join PSG has seemingly changed his priorities.

The former Lille striker has maintained a professional attitude in pre-season training with Napoli amid ongoing negotiations, impressing Conte despite not featuring in the coach’s plans for the upcoming campaign.

His impressive performances for Napoli and the Super Eagles have caught the attention of top clubs including Chelsea and Manchester United.
