The Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) has declared the candidate of the Action Alliance (AA), Hon. Uzodinma Nwafor, the winner of the chairmanship election for Etche Local Government Area, held on Saturday in the State.
Adolphus Enebeli, chairman of Rivers State Independent National Electoral Commission (RSIEC) made the declaration on Sunday in Port Harcourt, the state capital.
Enebeli said the AA also won all the 19 councillorship positions in Etche LGA.
At the time of filing this report, Nwafor is currently seated alongside other chairmen-elect as RSIEC prepares to issue them their certificates of return.
Meanwhile, the governor of the state, Mr Siminalayi Fubara is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Recall that the party boycotted the election, citing court rulings against it.
