Good Governance Symposium to Chart New Course for Obidient Movement In South-East

The Obidient Movement, in partnership with Anambra State Support Groups, will host a one-day symposium focused on strengthening and repositioning the Movement for greater impact and strategic development.

The event, titled “Repositioning the Obidient Movement for Greater Impact,” will take place on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at the All Saints Cathedral Auditorium in Onitsha, Anambra State, starting at 12:00 PM.

Following the formalization and restructuring of the Obidient Movement under the leadership of Dr. Tanko Yunusa, this symposium aims to harmonize efforts, reinforce the Movement’s organizational structure, and unify its mission to uphold social and political cohesion, ethical leadership, and purpose-driven advocacy.

The symposium will focus on six core objectives: Harmonization, Restructuring, Unification of Purpose, Social & Political Cohesion, Ethical Leadership, and the role of the diaspora in reshaping the homeland.

In a statement released in Onitsha, Maazi Tochukwu Ezeoke, Chairman of the Planning Committee, emphasized the significance of this gathering. “The Obidient Movement has emerged as a beacon of hope for millions across Nigeria. This symposium will lay the foundation for its next chapter, creating a platform for thoughtful dialogue and strategic planning,” he stated.

“Expected attendees include prominent leaders, policymakers, and dedicated Movement members from the South-East region, as well as members of the public who share a commitment to transparent, accountable, and effective governance,” the statement continued.

Through comprehensive discussions on leadership, the symposium aims to solidify the Movement’s commitment to advancing accountability and transparency within governance.

“This gathering marks a crucial step in ensuring the Movement remains resilient, focused, and capable of driving meaningful change in Nigerian society,” the statement concluded.
