The embattled former Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has been remanded in Kuje prison by a Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court sitting in Maitama.
The court presided over by Justice Maryann Anenih, issued the remand order on Tuesday, after his bail application was struck out.
The court adjourned his trial to February 25, 2025.
Mr. Bello will now remain in detention pending the outcome of the case.
Bello is facing a 16-count charge brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The charges include alleged complicity in a ₦110 billion fraud during his tenure as governor.
Also implicated in the case are two former officials of the Kogi State government, Oricha and Abdulsalami Hudu, who have been cited as co-defendants in the matter.
