Over 50 women and children were reportedly abducted in an attack on Saturday in Kakin-Dawa, the hometown of Minister of State for Defence, Mr. Bello Matawalle, in Zamfara State.

The unfortunate attack, masterminded by criminal bandits, took place in the Gidan Goga district of Maradun Local Government Area.

The terror group, this medium gathered, arrived on motorcycles at around 1:30am and conducted a house-to-house raid, targeting mostly women and girls.

Hassan Ya’u, a local resident whose younger sister was among the victim, confirmed that the bandits moved strategically, abducting multiple residents.

“We are appealing to the federal and Zamfara State governments to send more soldiers and security personnel to fight these bandits”, Mr Ya’u appealed.

Meanwhile, when contacted, Yazeed Abubakar, the police spokesman for Zamfara State, noted that he had not received a detailed briefing from the divisional police officer due to poor telecommunications in the area.
