CAF Disciplinary Board fines Libya, Others for misconduct

The CAF Disciplinary Board convened to address several incidents during the CAF Interclub Competition and TotalEnergies CAF AFCON Morocco 2025 Qualifiers.

CR Belouizdad (Algeria) faced charges for fans using smoke bombs during their TotalEnergies CAF Champions League match against Orlando Pirates (South Africa) on November 26, 2024.

The CAF Disciplinary Board found CR Belouizdad guilty, imposing a USD 10,000 fine, with USD 5,000 suspended for 12 months.

AS FAR was charged with misconduct after fans used smoke bombs during their TotalEnergies CAF Champions League match against Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa) on December 7, 2024.

The CAF Disciplinary Board fined AS FAR USD 5,000 and an additional USD 10,000 for supporters using lasers.

On November 14, 2024, Equatorial Guinea faced charges for failing to ensure adequate security during the match against Togo.

The Disciplinary Board imposed a suspended USD 25,000 sanction and a USD 5,000 fine for serious security lapses.

These lapses led to a pitch invasion during a critical match involving the Libyan Football Federation and Benin.

The board found the Libyan Football Federation guilty of breaching articles 82 and 151 of the CAF Disciplinary Code.

The Libyan Football Federation must play its next two official matches behind closed doors and pay a USD 50,000 fine.

The Disciplinary Board charged the Beninese Football Federation for not collaborating during their AFCON qualifiers match against Rwanda.

The Disciplinary Board fined the Beninese Football Federation USD 5,000, adding another USD 50,000, with USD 25,000 suspended.

CS Sfaxien faced charges for misconduct after supporters ignited pyrotechnic devices during the Confederation Cup match against CS Constantine.

The CAF Disciplinary Board fined CS Sfaxien USD 20,000, with USD 10,000 suspended for 12 months.

USM Alger (Algeria) faced charges for fans using smoke bombs during their TotalEnergies Confederation Cup match against Orapa United (Botswana) on November 27, 2024.

The Disciplinary Board fined USM Alger USD 10,000, with USD 5,000 suspended for 12 months.
