Boko Haram terrorists slaughter over 40 farmers in Borno

Members of Boko Haram terrorists organization have slaughtered over 40 people in a vicious attack on the Dumba community in Kukawa Local Government Area of Borno State.

The criminal elements reportedly launched the attack around 4:30pm on Sunday, leaving the community on edge.

Moreover, in addition to the confirmed deaths, scores of farmers remain unaccounted for and are believed to have been kidnapped by the rogue movement.

The attack has heightened tension over the persistent security challenges in the region.

Prof. Usman Tar, Borno State Commissioner for Information and Internal Security, confirmed the unfortunate incident in a statement on Monday.

He expressed condolences to the affected families and reiterated the government’s commitment in tackling insurgency in the state.

“Investigation has commenced on the circumstances behind this attack. Initial reports indicate about 40 farmers have been killed, while the whereabouts of many who escaped the attack are being traced for reunion with their families,” Tar said.
