TCN commissions 110MVA transformer at Isolo

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has recently commissioned a new 110MVA, 132/33KV power transformer at Isolo Transmission Station in Lagos.

This significant development aims to enhance electricity supply reliability and alleviate load pressure in Isolo, Ejigbo, Okota, and surrounding areas.

This new 110MVA transformer is anticipated to considerably improve power supply to both residents and businesses in the affected regions.

During the commissioning ceremony, the General Manager of the Lagos State Electricity Board, Engr. K.A.T. Balogun, represented the State Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources.

He commended TCN for undertaking this crucial infrastructure upgrade, highlighting the importance of such enhancements to local communities.

Engr. Balogun emphasized proper maintenance and optimal utilization of the new transformer. By ensuring its effective operation, residents will be able to maximize the benefits provided by this installation.

He stated, “This new transformer will play a vital role in improving the quality of life for residents and businesses in Isolo and its surroundings.” His appreciation for TCN’s commitment underscored the urgency of enhancing electricity infrastructure in Lagos State.

The commissioning ceremony attracted notable stakeholders, including the Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu. Engr. Sule Abdulaziz, the Managing Director of TCN, was also present, illustrating the significance of the event in the energy sector.

Furthermore, key representatives from the private sector were in attendance, including the CEO of Ikeja Electric, Mrs. Folake Soetan, and the CEO of Eko Electricity Distribution Company, Mrs. Rakhiat Momoh. Their presence highlighted the collaborative effort to improve electricity supply in Lagos.
