A Nigerian man has lost his pregnant wife and unborn baby after a doctor in Owerri, the capital of Imo State allegedly relied on a YouTube video to perform surgery on her.
The unfortunate incident was revealed in a video sighted by this medium on X.
According to the grieving husband, he had placed his trust in the medical team, only to later discover that they were unprepared and quacks.
He recounted how, before the procedure started, the doctor attempted to contact another individual to assist in the surgery.
However, what was even more shocking was that upon entering the operating theatre, the medical team allegedly resorted to watching instructional YouTube videos to figure out how to perform the surgery.
He said, “In the operating room, I saw them pressing their phones, watching YouTube to learn how to perform the surgery.”
“Unfortunately, despite their desperate attempts, both his wife and unborn baby did not survive the operation”.
Meanwhile, the sad incident has since sparked outrage across social media, with many Nigerians calling for justice and questioning the state of medical practice in the country.
The matter has been reported to the police but the command is yet to issue an official statement in respect to the development.
