Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State actively urged the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) to uphold rigorous certification standards without fail.

Therefore, ICAN’s dedication to excellence is paramount.

Governor Oyebanji urged ICAN leaders during a Wednesday meeting to uphold its rigorous exam standards, stressing they form the institute’s respected reputation.

Speaking during the Ado-Ekiti visit by President Davidson Alaribe’s delegation, he acknowledged concerns over exam toughness but emphasized this difficulty safeguards ICAN’s credibility as a top accounting body.

Governor Abiodun Oyebanji commended Institute members in his government for advancing transparency and accountability.

Specifically, he highlighted ICAN-certified accountants’ professionalism and expertise across his administration.

Consequently, Ekiti State has gained national acclaim as Nigeria’s transparency and accountability benchmark.

The Governor assured the Institute of the readiness of the state government to partner it through the “Catch Them Young” to train more youths in accounting and financial management. He emphasized the importance of equipping young people with the necessary skills to build a strong foundation for future professionals.

“Mr President, I am not an accountant but I will just give you this piece of advice because I listened to you when you said people have expressed concerns over the toughness of your examinations.

I will just plead with you not to compromise the process.

So, keep doing the right thing. ICAN is respected all over the country simply because your recruitment process is thorough and rigorous.
