Joint security forces thwart bandits retaliatory attack in Zamfara, eliminate leader Kachalla

On 12 March 2025, joint security forces repelled a retaliatory attack by armed bandits in Zamfara State’s Mada community.

Consequently, this decisive operation marked a crucial victory, restoring local stability amid ongoing regional conflicts.

Following the clash in Gusau Local Government Area, authorities reinforced patrols to prevent further violence.

The operation resulted in the neutralization of several terrorists, including the elimination of a notorious bandit leader, Kachalla Dogo Idin Madu.

According to intelligence sources, the incident unfolded in the early hours of Wednesday when a heavily armed group of bandits launched an assault on Mada. The attack was reportedly an attempt to retaliate against recent security operations targeting criminal elements in the region.

Troops from Operation FANSAN YAMMA, working in close collaboration with local vigilante groups known as Askarawa, responded swiftly to the retaliatory threat. A fierce exchange of gunfire ensued, during which security forces overpowered the attackers, inflicting heavy casualties and forcing the remaining bandits to retreat.

Among those neutralized was Kachalla Dogo Idin Madu, a notorious bandit kingpin who had long been on the radar of security agencies. Madu was reportedly responsible for orchestrating numerous attacks, kidnappings, and other terror-related activities that have plagued communities across Zamfara State.
