EKSU to honor Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele with prestigious Doctorate

Ekiti State University (EKSU) will honor Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele with an honorary Doctor of Law degree on March 29.

The recognition celebrates his unwavering commitment to advancing Nigerians’ welfare and fostering national peace through legislative action.

Notably, EKSU’s governing council and senate approved the honor, citing Bamidele’s transformative contributions to education, governance, and global development.

Registrar Ife Oluwole confirmed the decision, emphasizing the award reflects Bamidele’s decades of public service excellence.

In response, Bamidele expressed deep gratitude, calling the accolade a motivation to amplify his advocacy for people-centered policies.

“This honor strengthens my resolve to champion the rule of law and drive inclusive prosperity,” he affirmed.

Previously, Bamidele received similar recognition from Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, in February 2024.

Earlier, Joseph Ayo Babalola University awarded him an honorary doctorate in January 2023, underscoring his reputation as a bridge-builder in Nigeria’s political landscape.

Meanwhile, EKSU’s convocation ceremony will spotlight Bamidele’s role in shaping critical reforms, including educational funding and healthcare access.
