NAPTIP, NiDCOM forge stronger alliance to combat human trafficking

In a powerful move to combat human trafficking and protect Nigerians worldwide, the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) and the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) have strengthened their partnership.
This commitment was reaffirmed when NAPTIP’s Director-General, Binta Adamu Bello, paid a courtesy visit to NiDCOM’s Chairperson, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, on May 16, 2025.
During the meeting, both leaders emphasized the critical need for inter-agency collaboration to tackle human trafficking effectively. NAPTIP’s official Twitter account shared the announcement, highlighting their shared mission to safeguard Nigerians both at home and abroad. The discussion centered on improving victim support and intensifying efforts to dismantle trafficking networks.
DG Binta Adamu Bello praised Hon. Dabiri-Erewa for her tireless advocacy for diaspora Nigerians. She also reiterated NAPTIP’s dedication to rescuing victims and working with key stakeholders. “Together, we will confront this issue with unwavering resolve,” Bello declared. Her words underscored the importance of unity in the fight against exploitation.
In response, Hon. Dabiri-Erewa applauded NAPTIP’s relentless rescue operations and public awareness initiatives. She stressed the need for a united front against traffickers, urging stronger cooperation across government and civil society. “We must take decisive action to end this scourge,” she insisted. Her call to action reflected the urgency of the crisis.
The enhanced partnership will improve intelligence sharing, victim rehabilitation, and preventive education. Both agencies vowed to ensure Nigerians everywhere are shielded from abuse. This collaboration marks a crucial step toward dismantling trafficking networks and empowering vulnerable communities.
Ultimately, this renewed alliance signals hope for a safer future. By working together, NAPTIP and NiDCOM demonstrate that collective action can defeat human trafficking. Their efforts inspire confidence that Nigerians will one day live free from fear and exploitation. The fight continues, but with determination, victory is within reach.
