Former Nollywood screen diva, Grace Charis Bassey Effah, has officially joined the United States Navy and become a U.S. citizen.
Bassey shared the news via her official Instagram on Monday.
She posted pictures and videos of herself in uniform as she marched proudly during her graduation from boot camp.
“First, all glory to God,” she wrote. “Last week, I graduated from U.S. Navy boot camp as a Sailor and took the oath as a citizen of the United States.”
While reflecting on her journey, she recounted: “Nigeria raised me. America challenged me. I stand today stronger and more determined than ever.”
The milestone, she noted, is dedicated to her late father, Naval Commander Asido Bassey Effah.
Grace, formerly known as Belinda Effah, starred in several Nollywood movies before relocating to the United States.
She now starts a new chapter in military service, away from the spotlight.
