Bailout Fund For FCT Area Councils
An appeal has gone the way of the minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT) by a chieftain of APC, Mr. Tanko Abari to assist the six area councils of FCT with bailout funds.
The fund according to the chieftain is to enable the area councils pay their workers’ salary.
Mr. Tanko Abari made the call at a ceremony in Abuja on Thursday. The ceremony was to mark the first year anniversary of the administration of Mr Joseph Shazin who is the Chairman of the Kwali Area Council.
According to Abari, “If the governors are given bailout, we are saying the chairmen of the area councils too should be given bailout.
“All civil servants at the end of the month need their salaries to take care of their families.
“We are sending the signal to him. He should ask the acting president to give him a bailout.
“This is the second term of the present chairman, his performance during his first term was more but today the situation has changed.
“When a situation changes, we have to change, if the minister refuses to change, we will force him to change.’’
The APC chieftain also stated the activities/projects embarked by the area council.
“Some of the projects include the new timber market at Bako, cattle market at Yangoji and purchase of two motorcycles for the civil defence corps in Kwali,” Abari concluded.
