Adamawa Pension Board Adopts Hiring Of Retired Civil Servants

The Adamawa State Pension Board said it has adopted the hiring of retired civil servants for the verification exercise of state pensioners in the state.

Alhaji Ahmadu Njidda, Chairman of the board made this known on Wednesday at the presentation of verification report to Gov. Mohammed Bindow of Adamawa in Yola.

Njidda said that the exercise was efficient due to the involvement of experienced retired civil servants, adding that their report was better than previous verifications.

He assured the governor of their continuous demonstration of prudence and accountability in the board.

Gov. Bindow commended the board for the tedious assignment.

He encouraged them to continue to engage retired civil servants who were still productive in carrying out such assignments.

He gave assurance that the state government would soon upset the pension and gratuity arrears owed to state pensioners.

He added that the report would be forwarded to appropriate quarters for actions.

It could be recalled that the board was mandated in 2016 to carry out a verification exercise of pensioners to determine the exact number of pensioners in the state.
