The Kaduna State Police Command has achieved a major breakthrough in combating crime. Recently, officers raided criminal hideouts in Kawo, arresting 27 suspects and seizing dangerous weapons and hard drugs. This operation highlights the command’s relentless efforts to ensure public safety.

The raid followed the tragic murder of Lt.-Cdr. M. Buba, a Naval Officer stabbed by a hoodlum on June 8, 2025. At the time, the officer was fixing a tyre near the Armed Forces Command and Staff College in Jaji. Consequently, the police intensified operations to apprehend those responsible and prevent further violence.

Mansir Hassan, the police spokesperson, confirmed the operation was a joint effort involving the military, DSS, Kadvis, and vigilantes. Acting on CP Rabiu Muhammad’s orders, the team stormed Kawo and neighboring areas at 8:30 p.m. As a result, they arrested suspects and recovered weapons, including knives, axes, and illicit drugs.

CP Muhammad reaffirmed the command’s commitment to maintaining peace in Kaduna. He warned criminals to either repent or leave the state, vowing to pursue them relentlessly. Furthermore, he assured residents that the police would not tolerate any threats to public order.

This operation demonstrates the police’s resolve to protect lives and property. By dismantling criminal networks, they send a clear message: Kaduna will not be a haven for lawbreakers. Ultimately, such decisive actions reinforce public trust in security agencies.

The recovered items, including suspected Indian hemp, underscore the link between drugs and violent crime. Therefore, the police will continue targeting narcotics to curb criminal activities. Additionally, community cooperation remains vital in identifying and neutralizing threats.

Moving forward, the command urges residents to report suspicious activities promptly. Together, security forces and citizens can sustain Kaduna’s peace. The recent success in Kawo proves that collaboration yields tangible results.

In conclusion, the Kaduna police deserve commendation for their proactive measures. Their swift response to Lt.-Cdr. Buba’s killing reflects their dedication to justice. Undoubtedly, such efforts will deter future crimes and ensure a safer society for all.
