Obiano Donates Water Ambulance, Flying Boat to Riverine Communities

The Anambra state governor, Willie Obiano has donated an additional flying boat and a water ambulance to the Igala-speaking Communities in Anambra West Council area of the State. 

The gesture was announced at the Governor’s Lodge, during a meeting with representatives of the Igala Community in the State.

This now brings the flying boat to three, which he has donated to the area. The benefitting communities include Nzam, Inoma, Owelle, Ukwala, Ala, Odomagwu, Udi, Igbokenyi, Igbedor, Onugwa and Odegbe. 

The governor, while making the presentation noted that despite the present prevailing economic crunch he has continued to meet its statutory responsibilities. More so that his administration has continued to ensure fair treatment to every area in the distribution of its developmental projects irrespective of religion, class or geographical location.

That he was taking road construction projects to hinterlands with a view to opening them up and improving the living standard of the dwellers.

He directed that the Water Ambulance which will have a nurse attached to it with drugs, was to improve the effectiveness of Government’s response to Health emergencies in the remote riverine areas while the flying boat is to improve transportation in the areas too.

The governor also disclosed that two Secondary schools have been selected from the area to upgrade their Science laboratories so as to ensure that students in the area are not denied their educational dream due to their location. 

In his appreciation, the traditional ruler of Olumbanasaa in Anambra West LGA, Igwe Pius Omachonu thanked the Governor for all his efforts at making life more meaningful for people in the area, adding that they are now experiencing the impact of government for the first time. While pledging their support to the present administration, traditional ruler appealed for more intervention in the area.

The traditional ruler of Ukwalla, Igwe Joseph Ajodo acknowledged that with the Governor’s developmental strides across the state, in no distant time no part of the state will be adjudged as undeveloped.
