Senate President Saraki set up conference committee that will meet with their House of Reps to concur on CCT/CCB Act amendment despite public outcry

‎Despite public outcry and unconstitutionality of amendment of Code of Conduct Tribunal/ Bureau, Senate President, Bukola Saraki set up conference committee that will meet with their House of Representatives counterpart to concur on it.

Our correspondent observed that most the Senators included in the six-man Committee were Pro-Saraki senators in the Red Chamber.

They are Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, Senator Samuel Anyawu, Senator Jubril Barau, Senator Suleiman Adokwe, Senator Monsuratu Sumonu, Senator Yusuf Yusuf.

It could be recalled that Senate last passed the amendment of C‎CT/B last week hijacking power to control the agency from Mr. President.

However, findings revealed the amendment is constitutional matter, that is the 3rd Scheduled and 5th Scheduled of the constitution must be amended before the amendment can have effect.‎
