Senate Probes CCB‎ over alleged N8 billion permanent site Contract Scam (3)

Senate on Tuesday directed its C‎ommittee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions and Federal Capital Territory to investigate alleged contract scam of N8 billion permanent site.

The decision of the Senate was sequel to a point of order raised by Senator Dino Melaye over alleged corruption on the construction of the permanent site of the Code of Conduct Bureau worth N8 billion.

Senator Melaye told the lawmakers of the alleged plans of the CCB to buy a building not worth the funding released to them.‎

Our correspondent recalled that since the Senate President, Bukola Saraki has been facing trial at CCT, there have been series of allegation against the leadership of the Bureau.

Senate had last week concluded amendment of CCB/T Act which takes away Presidency control of the agency to National Assembly.

Saraki was absent due to his ongoing trial at CCT today (Tuesday)‎
