(DDM) – The Delta State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has formally inaugurated its Coalition Committee in Asaba.
(DDM) gathered that the ceremony, which took place on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, was described as a milestone in the party’s internal consolidation process.
The event was presided over by the State Chairman, Engr. Austine C. Okolie, who also heads the newly inaugurated committee.
According to the party, the committee is designed to serve as an advisory and unifying body that will integrate coalition partners into ADC’s mainstream structure across Delta State.
The State Legal Adviser, represented by Mr. Richard Modunkwu, administered the Oath of Allegiance to the members, thereby formalizing their induction.
In his keynote speech, Engr. Okolie stressed that ADC’s strength in Delta lies in unity, discipline, and loyalty.
He assured the gathering that the party’s original structures remain intact, while the Coalition Committee would work in close partnership with them to prevent duplication and rivalry.
“ADC in Delta State must integrate all coalition partners. We are determined, we are focused, and we will not tolerate anti-party activity,” Okolie declared.
Also speaking, the Finance Chairman of the committee, Mr. Anthony Omonigho, pledged that the body would work solely for the party’s growth and remain loyal to its ideals.
Apostle Ebi Amos Peremene welcomed the development and praised the decision of coalition partners to unite, describing it as a forward-looking step for the party.
The State Publicity Chairman, Bishop Obiajulu, urged members to remain steadfast and hardworking, noting that ADC is determined to clinch victory at all levels in the 2027 general elections.
Women representatives also made their voices heard during the ceremony.
Mrs. Chiwe Ejodor, the Woman Leader of the committee, assured the leadership of the readiness of women to mobilize massive support.
She argued that ADC represents a credible alternative for both Delta State and Nigeria, insisting that women will play a central role in that vision.
The Secretary of the Contact and Mobilization Committee, Hon. Dr. Nkadi Okocha, closed the session by emphasizing collective responsibility.
“All hands will be on deck to deliver results,” he said, stressing collaboration with existing structures.
The inauguration, party insiders noted, comes at a crucial time as political alignments are intensifying ahead of the 2027 elections.
Analysts suggest that ADC’s effort to integrate coalition partners could boost grassroots strength in Delta, a state long dominated by bigger parties such as PDP and APC.
The newly inaugurated committee has 18 members, including Engr. Austine Okolie, Mrs. Chinwe Ejidoh, Bishop Obiajulu, and Hon. Dr. Nkadi Okocha, among others.
With this move, ADC has signaled its determination to unify its base and project itself as a serious contender in the state’s political space.
Party supporters in Asaba hailed the inauguration as a sign that ADC is preparing early for the 2027 battle.
The event, observers say, may reshape opposition politics in Delta and strengthen the party’s identity among coalition partners.
