The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has released photos of a man wanted in connection with the killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, who was shot dead on Wednesday while addressing students at Utah Valley University.

The images, shared on the FBI’s official X account, show a man in casual attire wearing a dark baseball cap, sunglasses, jeans, and a long-sleeved shirt with an American flag design.

The agency described him as a “person of interest” and appealed for the public’s help in identifying him.

Officials emphasized that he has not yet been formally declared a suspect.

Diaspora Digital Media reported that Charlie Kirk, 31, a leading voice of the American right and founder of Turning Point USA, was shot in the neck during a live address.

He collapsed instantly, sending the packed auditorium into chaos. Witnesses described scenes of panic as students scrambled for safety.

The FBI confirmed that the gunman fled into nearby woods, abandoning what investigators identified as the murder weapon a high-powered bolt-action rifle.

A forensic team recovered the firearm, though no arrests have yet been made. A $100,000 reward has been announced for information leading to the shooter’s capture.

Special Agent Robert Bohls said investigators had obtained quality video footage of the suspect, which could soon be released.

“We’re doing everything we can to find him,” Bohls stated. “We don’t yet know how far he has gone, but we will track him down.”

The killing has shaken the United States, deepening fears of rising political violence.

Utah Governor Spencer Cox condemned the incident as a “political assassination.”

President Donald Trump, a close ally of Kirk, confirmed the activist’s death hours before law enforcement did.

Calling it a “dark moment for America,” Trump blamed “radical left rhetoric” for fueling violence against conservatives.

On Thursday, he announced Kirk would posthumously receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest civilian honor.

Kirk was a towering figure among young conservatives, with millions of followers on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube.

He built his reputation as a fiery defender of gun rights, Christianity, and strict immigration controls. Supporters have already hailed him as a martyr for the conservative movement.

His assassination follows a string of politically motivated attacks, including an assassination attempt on Trump in July 2024 and the killing of a Democratic lawmaker and her husband three months ago.

Vice President JD Vance is expected to visit Kirk’s family in Utah after canceling his scheduled trip to New York for the 9/11 memorial.

The FBI has urged anyone with information to come forward immediately, warning that the suspect is armed and dangerous.
