The Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu, has called on troops to gear up for a crucial offensive in the North-East, emphasizing that the next phase is vital to crushing Boko Haram and ISWAP.
Addressing Operation HADIN KAI personnel in Maiduguri, Shaibu stressed that the military is entering a decisive stage in its fight against terrorism, with no room for failure.
Shaibu highlighted that all necessary resources, including combat enablers and new platforms, have been provided to ensure success.
He urged soldiers to surpass their predecessors’ achievements, emphasizing that the responsibility of delivering a final blow to Boko Haram and ISWAP rests on their shoulders.
The North-East has seen a concerning resurgence of Boko Haram and ISWAP, exploiting porous borders and challenging terrain to regroup around Lake Chad.
Shaibu’s message conveys a renewed sense of urgency and determination to tackle this threat.
