Tech Skills Or Poverty: DDM Academy Opens 2026 Survival Window

Share this:

(DDM) – According to our correspondent, DDM Academy has announced the commencement of its Cohort 7 training programme, scheduled to begin on January 26, 2026, positioning the initiative as a direct response to Nigeria’s rising unemployment, widening skills gap, and the urgent demand for digital competence in a struggling economy.

Registration for the programme has officially opened, with interested participants directed to enroll via https://ddm.media/cohort-7, while enquiries and guided registration are also available through WhatsApp on 0811 380 8400, as the academy warned that training slots are limited due to capacity and instructional standards.

The academy disclosed that Cohort 7 is structured to equip Nigerians, particularly youths and career switchers, with practical, income-generating tech skills capable of competing in both local and global digital markets.

According to DDM corespondent, the programme offers intensive hands-on training across a broad range of high-demand technology and digital economy disciplines currently driving employment, freelancing, and remote work opportunities worldwide.

Courses listed under the Cohort 7 programme include Frontend, Backend, and Full Stack Web Development, UI/UX Design, Graphics Design, Digital Marketing, Project Management, Data Analytics, Crypto and Forex Trading, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, as well as Microsoft Office Suite proficiency.

DDM Academy stated that the curriculum is deliberately designed to prioritise real-world application over theory, with participants required to build live projects, solve industry-based problems, and acquire job-ready experience throughout the training period.

The institution confirmed that the programme will be delivered through both onsite and online learning options, providing flexibility for learners regardless of location or work commitments.
It further disclosed that limited accommodation facilities will be available for onsite participants, subject to additional fees, particularly for trainees coming from outside the host city.

Education and labour market analysts say the initiative reflects a growing national shift away from certificate-focused education toward skills-based learning, as Nigeria’s job market increasingly rewards competence over credentials.
DDM Academy noted that Cohort 7 aligns with the expanding global demand for remote tech professionals, freelancers, and digital entrepreneurs, positioning graduates to explore employment, outsourcing, and self-employment opportunities.
The academy added that the programme is open to beginners, intermediate learners, and professionals seeking to upskill, reskill, or transition fully into the technology sector.
Observers describe the announcement as part of a broader private-sector response to Nigeria’s worsening unemployment crisis and shrinking white-collar job space.

DDM Academy maintained that its long-term objective is to raise a new generation of self-reliant digital professionals capable of earning competitively within Nigeria and across international markets.

As the January 2026 start date approaches, interest in the programme is expected to intensify among youths seeking alternatives to prolonged unemployment and economic uncertainty.

The academy stressed that Cohort 7 represents not just a training opportunity, but a strategic gateway into the fast-evolving global digital economy.
