Trump Calls NATO ‘Cowards’ Over Lack of Support in Iran War

Share this:

U.S. President Donald Trump has criticised NATO allies over their reluctance to support the ongoing U.S.-Israel war against Iran, describing them as “cowards.”

In a social media post on Friday, Trump said the alliance would be ineffective without the United States, adding that member countries had failed to assist in securing shipping routes through the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz.

The president expressed frustration that allied nations were unwilling to join military efforts despite raising concerns about rising global oil prices linked to the conflict.

While several NATO countries, including Germany, France, and the United Kingdom, have indicated support for ensuring safe maritime passage, they have stopped short of committing to direct military involvement, instead calling for de-escalation.
