(DDM) — The Nasarawa State Police Command has recorded a major operational breakthrough following the neutralisation of suspected kidnappers during a security operation aimed at curbing criminal activities in the state.

The development, according to police authorities, is part of ongoing efforts to enforce the directives of the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, and intensify the fight against violent crimes across Nigeria.

Police officials disclosed that the operation was carried out based on credible intelligence, which led operatives to the hideout of the suspected criminals in a coordinated raid.

During the encounter, the suspects were reportedly engaged, resulting in their neutralisation and the disruption of what authorities described as a kidnapping network responsible for terrorising residents in parts of the state.

The Command emphasized that the success underscores its commitment to safeguarding lives and property, noting that sustained security operations are being conducted to dismantle criminal groups operating within the region.

Residents in affected communities have expressed relief over the development, with many commending the police for responding decisively to the threat posed by kidnappers and other criminal elements.

Security analysts say the operation reflects a broader nationwide push by law enforcement agencies to tackle kidnapping, banditry, and other forms of violent crime that have persisted in several parts of the country.

They, however, stressed the importance of maintaining momentum through intelligence-driven policing, community collaboration, and improved surveillance systems to prevent the resurgence of such criminal networks.

The police also urged members of the public to continue providing useful information that could aid security agencies in identifying and apprehending suspects involved in criminal activities.

Authorities reiterated that efforts will not be relaxed, assuring that all individuals found engaging in kidnapping or related crimes will face the full weight of the law.

Observers note that while the latest operation marks a significant step, sustained peace will depend on continuous enforcement actions and broader strategies addressing the root causes of insecurity.

As security operations intensify, residents remain hopeful that such interventions will lead to lasting stability and a safer environment across Nasarawa State.
