(DDM) – The Lagos State Government has sealed a branch of Access Bank Plc located in Victoria Island over alleged environmental infractions and an attack on government officials.

Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) reports that the enforcement action followed what authorities described as serious violations of environmental regulations by the financial institution.

Officials said the branch was shut after repeated concerns about compliance with environmental standards were allegedly ignored.

The government also accused individuals linked to the premises of assaulting enforcement officers during an inspection exercise.

Authorities described the incident as unacceptable, warning that attacks on public officials would not be tolerated under any circumstances.

According to state officials, the sealing of the facility is part of broader efforts to enforce environmental laws and ensure public safety across Lagos.

They stressed that all organisations operating within the state must adhere strictly to established environmental guidelines.

The government further warned that legal action may be taken against those responsible for both the violations and the alleged assault.

Officials noted that such measures are necessary to serve as a deterrent to other entities that may disregard regulatory standards.
