Trump Says Iran War Nears End, Threatens More Heavy Strikes

President Donald Trump has said the war between the United States and Iran is almost coming to an end, but warned that more intense attacks could continue for a few more weeks.

Speaking from the White House, Trump said the US is “very close” to achieving its goals and promised to “finish the job” quickly. He added that the next two to three weeks could involve even heavier strikes against Iran.

According to him, the US aims to weaken Iran’s military strength, stop its support for armed groups in the region, and prevent it from developing nuclear weapons. He claimed these objectives are nearly achieved.

The conflict, which started on February 28 when the US joined Israel in attacking Iran, has already had global effects. Iran responded by taking control of the Strait of Hormuz a key route for global oil supply causing oil prices to rise sharply.

Back in the US, rising fuel costs and economic pressure have affected public opinion, with Trump’s approval rating reportedly dropping.

Trump also warned that if Iran refuses to agree to a deal, the US could target major infrastructure like power plants. He used strong language, saying the country could be pushed “back to the Stone Age.”

However, there are doubts about how the war will end. Critics, including US Senator Chris Murphy, said Trump’s speech did not clearly show whether the situation is escalating or winding down.

Iran has denied claims that it is seeking a ceasefire, accusing the US of making unrealistic demands.

Trump also criticised European allies for not fully supporting the war effort and urged countries that rely on oil passing through the Strait of Hormuz to take more responsibility for securing it.
