Igbo Leaders Converge In Owerri For Crucial 2026 Political Summit Ahead Of 2027 Elections

(DDM) – The general public has been formally invited to the 6th edition of the Igbo Nation Political Summit, a major gathering aimed at shaping the political future of the South-East ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) confirmed that the summit is scheduled to hold on Friday, April 10, 2026, at the Golden Tulip Essentials Owerri.

The event is expected to commence promptly at 10:00am, with organisers urging participants to arrive early to ensure smooth proceedings.

According to the organisers, the summit will focus on the theme: “Building a Common Front of Igbo Political Bloc for National Relevance: Challenges and Prospects.”

The gathering is designed to bring together political leaders, stakeholders, intellectuals, and members of the public to deliberate on the future direction of Igbo politics.

Among the key resource persons expected at the event is Chief Barrister Soronnadi Njoku, SAN, who will serve as Chairman of the Summit.

Former Imo State Governor, Ikedi Ohakim, is billed to deliver a keynote address alongside veteran political figure Chekwas Okorie.

Also expected is Professor Anthony Oha, who will act as facilitator and moderator during the discussions.

Organisers say the summit will provide a platform for critical dialogue on political unity, strategic alliances, and the challenges facing the Igbo political bloc in Nigeria.

The event is also positioned as part of a broader political mobilisation effort tagged the “Igbo Nation Political Expedition 2027.”

Conveners of the summit emphasised the need for collective action, urging stakeholders to move beyond divisions and work toward shared political objectives.
