A school teacher has been stabbed to death by her 17-year-old student in the Perm region of Russia, authorities said on Tuesday.
According to report, the victim identified as Olesya Petrovna Baguta, was attacked at the entrance of her school in the town of Dobryanka. She was rushed for medical treatment but later died from her injuries despite efforts to save her.
Regional governor Dmitry Makhonin confirmed the incident, describing it as tragic.
The suspect, a 17-year-old student of the school, has been arrested, according to the Investigative Committee of Russia.
Authorities noted that the attack is part of a growing pattern of violent incidents in Russian schools in recent months, including knife assaults and other attacks in different regions.
