The National Youth Council of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has urged former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to prioritise resolving internal party disputes and strengthening unity within the coalition.
In a statement released on Saturday by its President, Mohammed Rabiu, the council expressed concern over recent political comments and developments within the party, warning that unresolved tensions could weaken its structure ahead of future elections.
The group stressed the need for cohesive leadership and constructive engagement among party stakeholders, noting that internal disagreements must be addressed through dialogue and consultation.
“We urge the former Vice President to give priority attention to internal party issues and work towards bringing all stakeholders together,” Rabiu said.
The council specifically highlighted ongoing challenges in Adamawa State, saying they require urgent attention to ensure stability within the party’s structure.
It also called for the resolution of pending legal and organisational disputes, arguing that such steps are necessary to build a stronger and more unified political platform.
The statement further emphasised that leadership at the party level demands continuous engagement and the ability to reconcile differing interests for collective progress.
The youth council also appealed to key opposition figures, including Rabiu Kwankwaso, Peter Obi, Aminu Tambuwal, and Rotimi Amaechi, to exercise restraint and avoid escalating political tensions through media exchanges.
“We call on all leaders within the coalition to remain measured in their public engagements and continue to promote unity and cooperation,” the statement added.
The council concluded by reaffirming that unity, mutual respect, and strategic coordination remain essential for strengthening the ADC and positioning it for future political success.
