Apparently miffed by the constant growing support and solidarity to Governor Udom Emmanuel by Akwa Ibo people, ruffled candidate of APC in the 2015 governorship elections Mr Umana Umana [above] has contracted thugs and cultists to attack and maim the PDP stalwarts in the state.

Umana whose popularity is dwindling, especially after abandoning his supporters for an Xmas cruise in the United Kingdom, however is said to have devised a means of creating a violent sceneries and destabilising the peace in the polity.

An inside source told our reporter that Mr Umana contracted his boys from the underworld to go after Governor Udom’s loyalists especially as they set about spreading the message of love and peace to supporters.

At Itu, Senator Anietie Okon and Commissioner Akan Okon became the first victim of the cross fire, as unknown young men, with guns and machetes, chanting ‘change and APC’,  invaded a PDP end of year gathering to attack and kill the PDP statesmen.

The police battled to contain the anomaly and prevent loss of live, although most people sustained various degrees of injuries, as the violent youths made away with some valuable items, cash and cell phones.

Celebrations in the camp of Umana Umana, greeted the news of the invasion and a local tabloid owned and financed by the APC The Guide, reported thus, “some strange youths BOMBED into the venue and told Sen Okon and his brother Akan that they are not after the N200,000 and queried why they think N200,000 can solve their problem.

In anger, for the embarrassment, Sen Anietie Okon confronted the leader of youth group.

As the young man engaged Okon, his friends pounced on Okon’s 2 mobile phone and destroyed them instantly. Others torn the bags of rice apart and the rest becomes a story telling adventure.

The PDP chairman Mr Paul Ekpo, has however called on PDP faithful across the state to remain calm and avoid actions that could negate the essence of the season even in the face of provocations.

Mr Ekpo said it is a normal development for PDP stalwarts to celebrate Christmas with their people and warn enemies of progress from instigating unnecessary violence in the state.

He commended Governor Udom Emmanuel for the recent Christmas largesse to the party and pledged the continuous support of the state to the state government.
