ABUJA, NIGERIA — The leadership of the ADC National Youth Champions has disowned individuals and groups allegedly soliciting money from aspirants and members of the public in the name of the organization, describing the activities as fraudulent and unauthorized.

The disclaimer was issued on May 1, 2026, following reports that some faceless persons were parading themselves as representatives of the ADC National Youth Champions seminar committee and requesting financial contributions from unsuspecting individuals.

The group stated that these individuals have no official mandate or recognition to act on behalf of the organisation, warning that their actions are misleading and damaging to the integrity of the body.

According to the statement, only duly recognised members of the executive committee of the ADC National Youth Champions seminar are authorised to speak, mobilise, or receive any form of financial support in the name of the organisation.

The leadership stressed that any request for funds outside approved and constitutionally recognised structures should be treated as illegitimate and disregarded by the public.

It further urged aspirants, supporters, and members of the public to exercise caution and verify the authenticity of anyone claiming to represent the organisation before engaging in any financial transaction.

The group warned that it would not accept responsibility for any losses incurred through dealings with unauthorised individuals or groups operating under false pretences.

The statement also called on security agencies to investigate the matter and take appropriate action against those involved, describing their activities as a threat to the credibility of youth-driven political engagement.

It noted that such fraudulent actions undermine the reputation of the organisation and distort efforts aimed at promoting transparency and accountability within youth political structures.

The ADC National Youth Champions reaffirmed its commitment to integrity, discipline, and structured communication in all its operations, insisting that it will continue to protect its members and supporters from exploitation.

As concerns over impersonation and fraudulent fundraising grow, the organisation’s warning highlights the need for vigilance and stronger verification mechanisms within political and civic structures.
