2027: Obi, ADC Hold High-Stakes Meeting Ahead of Defection

Peter Obi is closing in on a key political decision as he holds a series of high-level consultations ahead of the 2027 elections.

According to the Obidient Movement, the former Labour Party presidential candidate has been meeting with political allies, stakeholders and like-minded groups in what appears to be a careful effort to chart his next move.

The group says those talks are beginning to point in a clear direction, though no final announcement has been made.

In a statement issued in Abuja, the movement’s interim national coordinator, Yunusa Tanko, described the ongoing discussions as deliberate and strategic, aimed at choosing a path that best serves the country.

He said Obi is engaging widely to ensure any decision aligns with the broader goal of building what the movement calls a “New Nigeria.”

“These consultations are thorough and focused on what works best for Nigerians,” Tanko said, adding that the process is being guided by long-term considerations rather than short-term political gains.

The update comes as quiet negotiations and alliance-building continue across opposition circles, with Obi increasingly seen as a central figure in any emerging coalition.

Amid rising speculation, the movement urged supporters to remain patient and not be distracted by rumours, noting that Obi will speak publicly when the consultations are complete.

For now, his next step remains closely watched—but not yet confirmed.
