The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has forged a groundbreaking partnership with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to drive transformative development in the Niger Delta region.

This strategic collaboration aims to boost key sectors such as health, education, agriculture, and youth development, aligning with the NDDC’s mission to provide lasting solutions to the region’s socio-economic challenges.

The partnership was sealed during a meeting between the NDDC and UAE Ambassador to Nigeria, Al Shamsi, who commended the Commission’s development efforts.

The ambassador reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to supporting project execution.

A joint committee has been established to develop a framework for supporting development projects and programs in the region.

The collaboration will focus on various areas, including equipping the Commission’s Regional Specialist Cardiovascular and Orthopedic Hospital in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Enhancing Information and Communication Technology (ICT) infrastructure to foster economic growth and connectivity, improving access to quality education and skills development programs, promoting sustainable agricultural practices and empowering local farmers, and empowering young people through training, mentorship, and entrepreneurship opportunities, are other areas of focus.

This partnership is expected to yield significant benefits for the Niger Delta region, including improved healthcare services, enhanced economic opportunities, and increased access to education and skills development.
