A Nigerian businessman identified as Chief Godwin Chinedu Adimike has reportedly been killed in Abuja in an incident allegedly involving his 21-year-old son, who is said to be a serving member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
The incident reportedly occurred on Friday, May 15, 2026, at the family residence on Hassan Adamu Street in the Guzape area of the Federal Capital Territory. According to early reports, a heated argument broke out between the father and son over financial issues before it escalated into violence.
It was alleged that the disagreement stemmed from complaints by the son about his father being unwilling to provide him with more financial support, with claims that he compared his situation to that of peers whose fathers were more financially generous. The deceased, on his part, was also said to have accused his son of being extravagant and mismanaging money.
The situation reportedly turned tragic shortly after the confrontation, leading to the businessman being fatally attacked inside the residence. He was confirmed dead at the scene.
Further reports indicate that the suspect had returned home earlier with two female companions before the incident occurred. He is also alleged to have committed the act in their presence, though details surrounding this claim remain unverified at the time of reporting.
The suspect has since been taken into police custody as investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Authorities are yet to release an official statement, and the case is expected to be further examined as law enforcement works to establish the full sequence of events leading to the businessman’s death.
