ENUGU, NIGERIA – The leadership of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has dismissed reports of purported results from its primary elections in Enugu State, describing the circulating figures as fake and unauthorized.

The party clarified that no official announcement has been made regarding the outcome of the Enugu primaries and urged members, supporters, and the general public to disregard any unofficial results being shared on social media and other platforms.

According to party officials, the primary elections were successfully conducted, but the collation and verification processes must be completed before any formal declaration of winners can be made.

The Nigeria Democratic Congress, New Democratic Congress, stated that only designated party authorities are empowered to release official election results.

Party leaders warned that the spread of unverified information could create confusion among members and undermine confidence in the integrity of the electoral process.

They emphasized that transparency and due process remain central to the party’s internal democratic procedures and candidate selection mechanisms.

The clarification follows the circulation of alleged primary election results online, which generated speculation and debate among party supporters in Enugu State and beyond.

Officials maintained that the reports did not originate from the party and should not be considered credible under any circumstances.

Political observers note that the spread of unofficial election results has become increasingly common during party primaries and internal political contests, particularly through social media platforms.

Analysts say such misinformation can fuel tension, create unnecessary disputes among aspirants, and complicate post-primary reconciliation efforts.

The NDC leadership reassured all contestants that the collation process would be conducted fairly and that official outcomes would be announced through recognized party channels once all procedures have been completed.

Party stakeholders were also urged to remain calm and avoid actions capable of disrupting the peaceful conduct of the post-election process.

Supporters were advised to rely only on verified communications from the party’s national and state leadership regarding developments related to the primaries.

As anticipation builds among party members, attention remains focused on the official announcement of the Enugu primary election results and the candidates who will eventually emerge from the process.

The NDC reiterated its commitment to credible internal elections and urged members to exercise patience while awaiting the formal declaration of results through authorized party structures.
