Nigerian comedian Funnybone, born Chibunna Stanley, marked a decade in the entertainment industry with a special comedy show held at the Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos on June 7, 2026.
The event attracted a number of high-profile personalities from the entertainment and business sectors, including Obi Cubana, E-Money, KCee, and singer Chike, who all came out to support the comedian’s milestone celebration.
The most emotional moment of the night came during a tribute segment dedicated to late Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo, who reportedly passed away in May 2026 at the age of 40.
Taking to the stage, Funnybone delivered a heartfelt message in honour of the late actor, describing him as a good man whose life was cut short.
“He was a good man, he died too early, but God knows best,” he said.
A large screen at the venue displayed photos of Alexx Ekubo as part of the memorial tribute, while guests including Obi Cubana and E-Money were seen in attendance. The audience also joined in the moment of remembrance by raising their phone lights in honour of the late actor.
The emotional tribute stood out as one of the highlights of the night, adding a somber tone to an otherwise celebratory event marking Funnybone’s 10-year journey in comedy.
