Entrepreneur and media personality Sophia Momodu has marked her 39th birthday with a heartfelt reflection on her life journey, personal growth, and the lessons she has learned through motherhood.
In a recent interview with fashion magazine Marie Claire, Sophia opened up about how her perspective on life has evolved over the years. Reflecting on her younger days, she admitted that she was once headstrong and resistant to advice, but says age and experience have brought a sense of calm and maturity.
“When I was in my 20s, I was a hothead. You couldn’t tell me anything. It was my way or the highway. The older I get, the wiser I feel. And because of this, I’m calmer,” she said.
Sophia, who is the mother of Aurora Imade Adeleke her daughter with Nigerian music star Davido also spoke candidly about how motherhood transformed her mindset and deepened her sense of self-worth.
According to her, becoming a mother taught her the importance of self-love and prioritising her own well-being. She explained that seeing herself through her daughter’s eyes changed how she views herself and her role in the world.
“When I first had my daughter, I started to see myself in her eyes. I started to see how she sees me. She taught me to love myself even harder because I’m like, this person actually thinks that I’m the best person in the whole world and comes to me for every single thing,” she added.
As she celebrates a new chapter, Sophia’s reflections highlight a journey shaped by growth, resilience, and a deeper understanding of self qualities she continues to embrace as both a woman and a mother.
