Veteran Hollywood actor Anthony Guidera has died at the age of 65, weeks after suffering a sudden medical emergency at his home in Southern California.
According to reports, Guidera collapsed on May 11 after his heart unexpectedly stopped beating. He was placed on life support for about three weeks, but there was no significant improvement or clear explanation for his condition.
Following medical consultations and in the absence of recovery, his family made the difficult decision to bring him home, where he eventually passed away naturally surrounded by loved ones.
In an emotional statement, his wife, Valarie Guidera, confirmed his passing and expressed the family’s deep grief over the sudden loss.
“It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Anthony. We are devastated and trying to breathe through the impossible,” she said.
Anthony Guidera was best known for his breakout role in 1990 as a bodyguard in The Godfather: Part III. He went on to build a strong acting career throughout the 1990s, appearing in films such as Species, The Rock, The Postman, and Armageddon.
He also featured in several popular television series, including Baywatch, Angel, and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, earning recognition as a versatile supporting actor in Hollywood.
Guidera is survived by his wife and son, Nick.
