Popular Nigerian disc jockey and media personality, Florence Ifeoluwa Otedola, widely known as DJ Cuppy, has sparked conversations online after revealing she has ruled out the possibility of marrying a Nigerian man.
Speaking during a recent discussion, the billionaire heiress cited a past relationship experience that left her questioning the intentions of men who approach her.
“I can never marry a Nigerian. It’s impossible. The last one I dated was asking me when he could meet my dad I didn’t even think they liked me,” she said.
Cuppy explained that the experience made her more cautious, suggesting that some men may be more interested in her family background—particularly her father, billionaire businessman Femi Otedola than in building a genuine connection with her.
Despite her strong stance, she noted that her father has no strict preference regarding who she marries, aside from his desire to see her settle down.
The entertainer also took a moment to celebrate her sister, Temi Otedola, and her relationship with Afrobeats star Mr Eazi, describing it as a source of happiness and inspiration.
Her comments have since generated mixed reactions across social media, with many weighing in on issues of dating, perceived ulterior motives, and the unique challenges faced by high-profile women in relationships.
As the debate continues, Cuppy’s remarks have once again brought attention to the complexities of love, fame, and trust in the public eye.
