Nigerian actress Susan Peters has made a renewed appeal for the return of her missing phone, expressing deep concern over the sensitive information stored on the device.
The actress revealed that her white iPhone 16 Pro Max went missing during the Service of Songs held in honour of late actor Alexx Ekubo. While noting that the phone itself can be replaced, Peters stressed that the data it contains is far more valuable and irreplaceable.
Providing an update on the third day since the incident, Peters said she remains emotionally distressed, especially as she had not recently backed up the information on the device.
She also dismissed claims circulating online suggesting the situation might be a publicity stunt, insisting that the loss is genuine and deeply troubling.
According to her, the situation has taken a more worrying turn, with her mother reportedly receiving suspicious messages and links connected to the missing phone.
In her words:
“Day 3, my heart is heavy. Not for the phone but for the information on it, and someone will send a message asking if it’s a prank!! Are you alright? iPhone 16 Pro Max white. Anyone close to me knows that phone. Now they have called Mom and even sent her a link to send me via WhatsApp. And the phone is still off!
“It’s not a prank, FYI. The phone is gone, which can be replaced. My information on it is my pain, and I haven’t backed it up recently; otherwise, I will find it in my cloud. My heart is heavy.”
Fans and colleagues have since reacted with concern, urging anyone who may have found the phone to return it, while also advising caution over the suspicious messages linked to the device.
The incident has sparked conversations about data security and the importance of regular backups, particularly for public figures who rely heavily on their devices for personal and professional information.
