KANO, Nigeria — The Action Democratic Party (ADP) presidential candidate, Ambassador Aliyu Bin Abbas, has officially launched his 2027 campaign in Kano, promising to usher in a “New Nigeria” and urging citizens to support his vision for national transformation.
Abbas made the declaration at a well-attended rally on Thursday, where he addressed party faithful, community leaders, and supporters. He outlined his vision for a Nigeria that prioritises economic prosperity, social justice, and good governance, stressing that the country’s challenges require bold and innovative solutions.
The ADP presidential candidate described the current state of the nation as unacceptable, citing insecurity, unemployment, and economic hardship as urgent issues that his administration would address decisively. He promised to build an inclusive economy that would create jobs for the teeming youth and ensure that no Nigerian is left behind.
Abbas also emphasised the importance of unity and called on Nigerians to rise above ethnic, religious, and political divisions. He argued that the country’s diversity should be a source of strength rather than conflict, and that his administration would foster a sense of belonging for all citizens.
The rally, which drew a large crowd of supporters from across Kano State, was marked by enthusiastic cheers and expressions of solidarity with the ADP candidate. Party leaders who spoke at the event hailed Abbas as a visionary leader with the capacity to address Nigeria’s pressing challenges and restore hope to millions of Nigerians.
Abbas also outlined key policy priorities, including agricultural transformation to achieve food security, investment in education and healthcare, and the creation of an enabling environment for small and medium-sized enterprises. He stressed that economic diversification would be a cornerstone of his administration, with a focus on reducing the country’s dependence on oil revenue.
The ADP candidate further called on Nigerians to reject the politics of division and to embrace a new era of accountability and transparency in governance. He pledged to lead by example and to ensure that his administration would be defined by integrity and service to the people.
The event was attended by ADP leaders, supporters, and well-wishers from across the state, who expressed confidence in Abbas’s ability to lead Nigeria to a brighter future. The candidate’s message of hope and renewal resonated with many in attendance, who expressed optimism that his leadership could bring about the change Nigeria desperately needs.
As the 2027 election approaches, the ADP and its presidential candidate have made their intentions clear: to offer Nigerians an alternative vision of leadership and governance. Abbas’s campaign is expected to gain momentum in the coming months, with plans to visit other states to rally support for his candidacy.
For now, the ADP presidential candidate has set the tone for what promises to be a competitive and issue-driven campaign, with a focus on delivering a “New Nigeria” that works for all citizens. The success of his bid will depend on his ability to build a broad coalition of supporters and to articulate a compelling vision that resonates with Nigerians across the country.
