Nigeria’s First Lady Oluremi Tinubu has called on some of the country’s biggest music stars to channel their influence and wealth toward supporting the less privileged.

In her appeal, she specifically mentioned Afrobeats heavyweights Burna Boy, Asake, and Davido, urging them to come together under a unified foundation to make a greater impact.

“I want to appeal to our young people in this country… we want to see you come together under one foundation to help the poor with your money,” she said.

While acknowledging the luxury lifestyles often associated with top entertainers including expensive cars like Maybachs and Rolls-Royces she emphasized that there is still room for philanthropy and social responsibility.

“The Maybachs and Rolls-Royces are good, but you can still help. The burden on the government is huge,” she added.

Her statement has sparked conversations online about the role of celebrities in nation-building, with some supporting the call for collective charity efforts, while others argue that many artists already contribute to social causes in their individual capacities.
